Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park

Located in Quang Binh Province, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is five hours by road north of Bach Ma National Park. Phong Nha is a major tourist attraction known for its limestone karst formations and extensive cave systems and the national park has been designated a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.

Because of the national park’s sensitive location on the border with Laos however access to the park proper is difficult. Fortunately for visiting birders two of Phong Nha’s main avian attractions, the recently described Limestone Leaf-warbler and Sooty Babbler, can be seen outside the national park boundaries at the main tourist site above the caves.
